In some countries, cows are partially in animal housing and partially out to pasture.
As the feed ration is different at pasture and at animal housing, the rumen needs a period of adaptation. That's why in each case a feed transition period is needed to avoid cases of acidosis.
In temperate region, the first grass after winter is low in cellulose, magnesium and sodium but very rich in starch. So the addition of Bicar®Z is very important: 250g of Bicar®Z per day per cow is recommended all along the year excepted during the dry period.
